The Clothesline Project Photos

Here are a few flicks from The Clothesline Project which we set up on May 1st - 4th at Ryerson University on Gould Street. The event was a great success and we want to thank all the volunteers who came out and donated their time and energy to such an awesome cause. we love you!

"the clothesline" poem by j & v

Tell stories of empowerment,

like the way we were meant to be in power...

in order to break the silence-

the lengths we went to connect with the original covenant.

So that what can be heard,

is that of what mute women speak.

Each story unique.

Shoulder to shoulder, standing tall,

held hands linked, now there is no room to fall.

Call up and let the goddess be seen.

Queens, you are once again placed upon the forefront.

More than just a beat, let our souls thump...

Rise again and take your place in the clouds.

Identify with one another, let our voices be loud...

Come-Unity.
